Birds has been around since 1919. As a family-run business we know how important our tradition has become.
Birds the Confectioners was founded by three brothers; Frank, Thomas and Reginald Bird in 1919. The company was later passed on to their sons, the last of the founder members passing away in 1951.
Paul Bird, the second generation pioneer, expanded the company considerably while maintaining the quality of our products.
Currently the company is run by the third generation, brothers Patrick and Nicholas Bird. Having just opened our 56th store in Borrowash, we’ve certainly grown over the years.
Our product range has naturally flourished as well. Not only can you still get all the Birds bread,cream cakes and confectionery you’ve always loved, but we now also offer a range of take-away lunch foods including hot sausage cobs and many freshly baked products, coffees and sandwiches.
