Derby Feste Seeking Volunteer Feste Makers

20 Jul 2023

Derby Festé is recruiting its team of volunteer Festé Makers for the East Midlands’ flagship outdoor arts and cultural festival which attracts over 30,000 visitors across various locations within Derby’s city centre from Friday 22 to Saturday 23 September.

Organisers are aiming to recruit up to 100 Festé Makers of all ages and backgrounds whose roles will centre around being the welcoming and friendly face of the festival as thousands move around the city experiencing the delights and spectacles of dance, circus, acrobatics, music and theatre.

Feste’s Volunteer Coordinator, Katrina Farrell Richardson, states, “This will be a great opportunity to get involved and help make memories in what will be a bigger, brighter, and bolder Festé than ever before.”

Chantel McLaren, a Festé Maker for 2023, says, “Volunteering for Derby Festé is a remarkable opportunity to immerse myself in a vibrant celebration of art, culture, and community. By engaging with audiences, providing guidance, and managing crowds, I can contribute to the seamless flow of events. Volunteering not only allows me to give back to the community but also provides a refreshing escape from reality, fostering personal growth and well-being.”

Festé Makers will be provided with special training prior to Festé to help them act as ambassadors for the festival, whether that’s helping people find the events they want to watch or helping those with getting involved with our community procession or getting valuable feedback.

Those wanting to register their interest simply need to visit Take Part – Derby Feste and fill in the form.
