The current St Peters Quarter BID term is due to end in March 2022. As such, we have now begun the process of renewal which will culminate in a vote by businesses in a ballot to be held late this year.
We have achieved a lot together over the last four years but in these challenging times we need to ensure that we create a new business plan which is fit for purpose for the next five years and beyond and your involvement is crucial, so we can build upon what we have already accomplished and ensure that our business community benefit from new opportunities and drive the future development of the area.”
There will be forthcoming communications and updates in the weeks ahead, with regular Renewal Ebulletins to keep you updated and to enable you to provide your input.
Helen Wathall, Chair of St Peters Quarter BID
St Peters Quarter is a Business Improvement District both funded and governed by businesses located in the St Peters Quarter BID boundaries. Since 2017, the BID team has carried out a five-year strategy which has raised the profile of St Peters Quarter making it a safer, cleaner and livelier place to visit and do business. The current St Peters Quarter BID term is due to end in March 2022 and must undergo what is called a ‘Renewal Ballot’. Businesses who are over a certain rateable value within the BID area will be asked to vote in favour of supporting a third five-year term. The outcome of the Renewal Vote will affect the future of the St Peters Quarter business community.
To make sure that the BID is able to provide the support your business needs over the next five years we need your thoughts, views and ideas. Besides the existing BID activities and opportunities there will be a variety of different ways in which you can help shape the future plan. Please see some of these opportunities listed below.
The St Peters Quarter BID Board is elected by members of St Peters Quarter Derby Ltd, drawn predominantly from those paying a levy in the area and made up of a cross-section of businesses, stakeholders and key agencies associated with the successful delivery of the BID projects. The role of the Board is to safeguard the interests of levy payers by ensuring that the BID operates in line with the Business Plan and offers consistent value for money in line with its targets.
Becoming a Board member gives you the opportunity to represent the needs of your business and the businesses around you. If you are interested in joining St Peters Quarter BID Board, please contact the BID office for more information.
There will be a series of events which will aim to both provide information to businesses and collect their views on future developments planned for the area and identify priorities.
Watch this space for events as they are planned.
